GLOSSARY

Cannabinoids

The core hemp terms and cannabinoid language used across our CBD and CBG ranges.

CBD (Cannabidiol)

CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in hemp. It is non-intoxicating and is widely used in food supplement and wellness products.

CBG (Cannabigerol)

CBG is another cannabinoid found in hemp. It is often referred to as a minor cannabinoid because it typically appears in smaller amounts than CBD.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)

THC is the cannabinoid associated with intoxicating effects. In UK-compliant CBD products, THC is limited to trace levels or not detectable depending on the product type.

CBD isolate

CBD isolate is a purified form of CBD that contains only cannabidiol, without other cannabinoids or plant compounds.

Full-spectrum / broad-spectrum

Full-spectrum products contain a wider range of naturally occurring hemp compounds, while broad-spectrum products contain multiple compounds but are processed to remove THC to non-detectable levels.

Hemp

Hemp is a strain of Cannabis sativa grown for fibre, seed, and cannabinoid extraction. It is the source plant used for most CBD products.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in hemp and cannabis plants. CBD, CBG, and THC are examples.

ECS (Endocannabinoid System)

The ECS is a network involved in maintaining internal balance. It is often referenced when explaining how cannabinoids interact with the body.

Terpenes & flavour

Terpenes are the plant compounds that influence aroma and flavour in products such as terpene-infused CBD crystals and flavoured vape liquids.

Linalool is often associated with floral, lavender-like aromas.

Caryophyllene

Caryophyllene is commonly described as spicy or peppery in aroma.

Terpene blend

A terpene system added to some CBD and CBG products for aroma and flavour.

Flavour profile

Flavour profile refers to the overall taste and aroma character of a product, often shaped by its terpene blend.
