Some products sold through peoplescbd.co.uk are subject to legal age restrictions. We may therefore carry out age-verification checks when an age-restricted product is purchased.
Age-Restricted Products
Age restrictions depend on the type of product being purchased.
CBD products are not automatically age-restricted simply because they contain CBD. Where we apply an age requirement to a product that is not subject to a statutory age-of-sale restriction, this forms part of our responsible-retailing policy.
From 29 October 2026, UK law prohibits the sale of vaping products and nicotine products to anyone under the age of 18. This includes nicotine and non-nicotine vaping products.
Other products may also be subject to age restrictions where required by applicable law.
Our UK Government-Approved Age Verification Partner: AgeChecked
We partner with AgeChecked, a specialist online age-verification provider whose solution is approved for use in the UK.
AgeChecked provides the age-verification technology used to help us prevent the sale of age-restricted products to underage customers while keeping the checkout process as straightforward as possible.
AgeChecked Compliance
✚ UK Government Approved — AgeChecked describes its online age-verification solution as UK Government approved.
✚ Industry Standard — AgeChecked performs age verification under BSI PAS 1296:2018, the Code of Practice for Online Age Verification.
✚ Trading Standards Assured Advice — AgeChecked operates an Assured Advice partnership through the Primary Authority framework. Participating retailers can opt in to its Co-ordinated Partnership, providing additional regulatory assurance in relation to age-verification procedures.
✚ Privacy-Focused Verification — AgeChecked states that customer information used during verification is anonymised and that personal data used to establish age is not retained after the verification process has been completed.
How Age Verification Works
Where an age check is required, AgeChecked can verify the information supplied during the purchase against appropriate permissioned data sources.
In many cases, the check takes place automatically in the background without requiring any additional action from you.
If your age cannot be verified automatically, AgeChecked may offer an alternative verification method.
Once the required age has been successfully verified, we can continue processing the order.
If the required age cannot be verified, an age-restricted product cannot be supplied.
Identification and Alternative Verification
Where additional proof of age is required, AgeChecked may ask you to use an appropriate form of identification or another approved verification method.
Only information reasonably necessary to complete the verification should be processed for this purpose.
The exact verification method available may depend on the circumstances and the information required to establish that the applicable age requirement has been met.
If We Cannot Verify Your Age
Where a product is legally age-restricted, we cannot complete the sale unless we are satisfied that the applicable age requirement has been met.
If age verification cannot be completed successfully, the relevant product or order may be refused or cancelled.
Where payment has already been taken for an order that we subsequently cannot fulfil because the required age verification has not been completed, the appropriate refund will be issued.
Buying for Someone Under Age
You must not purchase an age-restricted product from Peoples CBD on behalf of someone who does not meet the applicable legal age requirement.
From 29 October 2026, it is also an offence for a person aged 18 or over to buy, or attempt to buy, a vaping or nicotine product on behalf of someone under 18.
Your Personal Information
Age-verification checks involve the processing of personal information.
Information used for age verification will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
AgeChecked processes information used for verification in accordance with its own data-protection responsibilities and privacy procedures.
We aim to use only the information reasonably necessary to establish whether the relevant age requirement has been met.
Responsible Retailing
Age verification is one part of our wider approach to responsible retailing.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably believe an age-restricted product is being purchased by, or on behalf of, someone who does not meet the applicable age requirement.
Where we choose to apply age verification to a product that does not have a statutory minimum purchasing age, this is a Peoples CBD responsible-retailing measure rather than a statement that the product is legally restricted to people aged 18 or over.
